Sportmassage

A good masseur should possess a sensitivity that is developed to the point he is able to tell if the sportsman/woman is in shape by the condition of the muscle tissue at that moment. It is also possible that the masseur establishes an overtrained state, based on the tone of the muscle tissue combined with other symptoms. A state of overtraining can be remedied partly by massages.

Besides massages executed before the training or game, massages after the training and/or game are important as well. This can decrease the stiffness of the muscles or even prevent it. The more frequent the training becomes, the necessity of a massage increases, because the body has less time to recover. In such cases a massage can accelerate and support the recovery proces.

The massage, provided it's given correctly, has a favourable influence on the performance. The sportmasseur assists the sporting men by word and deed; with advice on nourishment, training load, bodycare and the use or refuse of the countless 'ointments' that are often used wrongly.

For who is the sport massage?
Besides the sportsman/woman, a sport massage can be beneficial for anybody. If you obtained muscular pain through a wrong movement in the back, in the neck or elsewhere in the body, if you have stiff and aching muscles after an once-only effort (a weekend in the Ardennes or sports day) or if you have been a little too enthusiastic during the weekly workout, you shouldn't walk around with pain for days but call for a massage.
